Animated Film ‘Halloween vs Day of the Dead’ to Be Directed by Celso Garcia With Studio 100 Intl. and Lunch Films Producing
The film, which will blend 2D and 3D animation, will be directed by Celso Garcia, founder of Lunch Films and repped by the Gotham Group. Garcia’s credits include “The Thin Yellow Line,” produced by Guillermo del Toro, “Origins: The Journey of Humankind” for National Geographic and Legendary Pictures, the Mexican remake of “My Best Friend’s Wedding”, a comedy produced for Netflix.

Animation producer Gerry Cardoso is best known for the 2016 animated feature El Americano, with Edward James Olmos, Phil Roman and director Ricardo Arnaiz. He is currently working on several new features, including the much-anticipated The Mark of the Jaguar. He and director Cynthia Fernandez Trejo were kind enough to answer a few questions about their new movie The Language of Birds.

Demonstrating the attractiveness of Latino animation for big movie distributors, Lionsgate’s Grindstone Entertainment Group has acquired all North American rights to the Edward James Olmos executive-produced toon feature “El Americano, the Movie 3D.”
‘Los Toons’ Specials Coming to Univision in US & Mexico
The colorful characters of Martha Montoya’s Los Toons will invite viewers in the US and Mexico along on their culture-rich adventures thanks to three new 2D animated specials, created in collaboration with L.A.-based Anáhuac Films for Univision Network. The first is set to debut in September. The trio of toons will be directed by Anáhuac’s Gerry Cardoso (Founder & Producer) and Ricardo Arnaiz (Producer & Director), co-creators of El Americano.
